BIO

Ο Dionisios Fragias γεννήθηκε στην Κεφαλονιά. Ζει και εργάζεται στη Νέα Υόρκη. Ο Fragias με μέντορα τον καλλιτέχνη Jeff Koons συνεργάζονται στενά στα πιο διάσημα έργα τέχνης στον κόσμο για πολλά χρόνια, συμπεριλαμβανομένης μιας επερχόμενης εκτόξευσης ενός έργου τέχνης σε έναν πύραυλο που θα εγκατασταθεί στη νότια επιφάνεια του φεγγαριού! Στο στούντιο του ίδιου του στο Long Island City, στη Νέα Υόρκη, ασκεί μια περιβαλλοντικά βιώσιμη πρακτική τέχνης, χρησιμοποιώντας συχνά ανακυκλωμένο μέταλλο για τη δημιουργία μεγάλων έργων. Σε έργα ζωγραφικής, γλυπτικής, βίντεο και παραστατικών έργων και ψηφιακών έργων αιχμής, ο Dionisios καλεί ιστορικά τροπάρια και κριτική σκέψη σε συνδυασμό με μια ισχυρή αισθητική αίσθηση για να εκδηλώσει πραγματικά πρωτότυπα έργα τέχνης που προκαλούν βαθύ στοχασμό στον θεατή και τον καθοδηγούν προς την ενασχόληση με επίκαιρες ερωτήσεις. Τα έργα τέχνης εκτελούν μεγάλο μέρος της εννοιολογικής άρσης βαρέων και απελευθερώνουν την ενέργειά τους αργά με την πάροδο του χρόνου για να επιτρέψουν στον θεατή να απολαύσει κάθε έργο για πολλά χρόνια.
Ο Fragias εκθέτει στη Νέα Υόρκη και διεθνώς σε γκαλερί, και σε σημαντικές εκθέσεις μουσείων όπως το MoMA/PS1 Greater NewYork 2005. Έργα του υπάρχουν σε πολυάριθμες διακεκριμένες συλλογές και τα μεγάλης κλίμακας γλυπτά του μπορούν να βρίσκονται σε μόνιμες δημόσιες τοποθεσίες όπως το Hearst-Tower στην πόλη της Νέας Υόρκης.
